The Old vs. The New

I have been blown away at how much God talks about the Old sinful nature vs the New Spirit-led nature. I think it is so vital that we begin to identify the Old us in order to recognize when God's Spirit's speaks.

If you get a chance today or this week... read these verses for yourself.

- Romans 8 - I'd recommend taking one morning and reading through slowly and deliberately, taking in every word/concept.
- 1Corinthians 2:6-16 - Wisdom from the Spirit vs human/world wisdom.
- 1Corinthians 15:21,22 - Talks about what received through Adam and Christ.
- 1Corinthians 15:42-57 - Perishable vs. Imperishable
- Galatians 5:1-26 - Freedom Through Christ, being led by the Spirit, acts of the sinful nature, and fruit of the Spirit.
- Ephesians 2:1-10 - Dead in sins, but alive in Christ.
- Ephesians 4:17-5:20 - Take off Old self, put on New self.
- Philippians 3:1-11 - Paul says he has, "no confidence in the flesh."
- Colossians 2:13-15 - Dead in sins, alive with Christ through the cross.
- Colossians 3:5-17 - "Put to death... your earthly nature," and "take off the old self... put on the new self."
- Titus 3:3-11 - "He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit."
- 1John 2:15-17 - The world's deires pass away, but the one who does the will of God lives forever.
